If you want a Friday that isn't another queue outside another bar: Vinyl Nights is a free listen-and-swap record night in Hackney, East London. Bring records you're happy to trade, hear them played loud, and leave with somebody else's favourite.

How the swap works
Bring one record or five — anything you'd genuinely pass on. Records go on the table, people flick through, and swaps happen face to face: you play the other person a bit of what you brought, they do the same. No money changes hands, nothing is graded, and nobody minds a scratched sleeve with a good story.
Coming empty-handed is fine too. Plenty of people turn up to listen first and bring records the week after.
Getting here
Sevente sits on Hackney Road, walkable from Hoxton and Cambridge Heath Overground and a short walk from Old Street and Bethnal Green. Buses along Hackney Road run late, so it is an easy night out if you're coming from Shoreditch, Dalston or London Fields.
Good to know
Doors open at 6.30pm and it fills up after work, so arrive early if you want a proper dig through the table. It winds down at 10.30pm — early enough to carry on elsewhere in East London, and calm enough to actually hear each other talk about music.
